GREETINGS! From The Texas Hill Country and The Ranch

HELLO! to ALL of my friends.
Packing up and moving out was tedious and the trip to Austin,Texas was long and hot,but we made it to Texas and have settled in. The week we moved it was 100 plus degrees everyday, but now the weather has somewhat moderated and its now warm and breezy during the day in the mid-90’s and pleasant 70 degree evenings.

This is my first post from our lovely new living quarters. I hope you will follow me on my journey. And, along with me, experience this unique lifestyle and culinary adventures in the Texas Hill Country!

To be more precise,we moved to Dripping Spring,Texas:Gateway to The Hill Country.

Dripping Springs is about 25 miles West of Austin and lies in the beautiful Texas Hill Country, very close to downtown Austin and less than 2 hours from San Antonio and the rest of the Texas Hill Country.
This unique are offers magnificent views, lots of wildlife, rock bottom creeks, rolling hills and a big sky that goes on forever.

The decision to move from beautiful Nashville,TN was made when we had the very unique once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to move back to our favorite spot in the world AND live in a Bed and Breakfast. It’s a rather long story but luckily I have great friends here which lead to the email that I sent asking “if we can lease the B and B for this next year?” And the answer was “YES!” Why? you ask? This area offers an exceptional school system and Dripping Springs High School is included IN NATIONAL RANKING OF TOP HIGH SCHOOLS in the country! As you might know,Layla is an exceptional photographer and student and she wanted to finish high school here to pursue more opportunities for her future.

Several years ago,we did live here for about 2 years before moving back to Nashville. We kept in touch with our Texas friends and never forgot this unique area.

I have been inspired by this unique area to blog about my life in The Texas Hill Country. I can’t wait to share my experiences from the RANCH about this area which is filled with natural beauty, amazing food, unforgettable friends and of course…the wine!

Here we are living on a 9 acre B and B or,what we like to call… THE RANCH!

There are two houses at The Ranch. This is the Farm House.

This is the Bunkhouse

Outside of the Bunkhouse there are many areas to sit and enjoy the views,a meal and a glass of wine.

Inside the Bunkhouse,we have lots of room to enjoy cooking and dining with friends.

Our neighbors…they love to eat carrots!

The Pond

Natural Beauty

Just up the road a bit is a groovy ” little” town that I can’t wait to experience-again.

Food Trucks and all….

Just West of Weird,I can’t wait to experience The Texas Hill Country and all it has to offer…Becker Vineyards-one of my favorite wineries in The Hill Country.

Outside of Fredericksburg, near Enchanted Rock: Trois Estate

Stay tuned and follow my life in The Texas Hill Country! I can’t wait to share it with you!
