2015 Austin Food + Wine Festival Fire Pit Event

SUNDAY, APRIL 26, 2015
Auditorium Shores

On Saturday and Sunday, the festival grounds at Auditorium Shores will feature interactive live-fire stations, with Texas chefs cooking over Fire Pits and offering tastes to attendees throughout the weekend. This event has become so “red hot”  the amount of Fire Pit stations has doubled with four each day. Less structured than a demo, and more intimate than the hands-on grilling classes, the Fire Pits provide a forum for culinary Q&A with top Texas talent, and an opportunity to taste the chefs’ bold creations.

Get a front-row experience at the live fire which is available for all festival pass holders!

On Saturday, April 25, enjoy bites from chefs including: Jack Gilmore (Jack Allen’s Kitchen); Jorge Hernandez & Paul Qui (Qui); Pat Martin (Martin’s Bar-B-Que Joint in Nashville); Tandy Wilson (Nashville’s City House); and Andrew Wiseheart (Contigo & Gardner).

On Sunday, April 26, Fire Pit masters will include: David Bull (Congress); Thai Changthong & Paul Qui (ESK Thai-Kun); Terrence Gallivan & Seth Siegel-Gardner (The Pass & Provisions); and Jack & Bryce Gilmore (Barley Swine, Jack Allen’s Kitchen, Odd Duck).

Nashville has quickly become a culinary hot spot that has attracted foodies from everywhere. Start off your culinary experience at Chef Tandy Wilson’s The City House Nashville for a inspired rustic meal, and a cocktail where local ingredients shine. While in Austin, Tandy will look forward to hanging out with his family enjoying the Austin culinary scene.

I can’t wait to find out what Tandy will be cooking up in the fire!

Did anyone say BBQ? Since I currently live in Nashville, I get the privilege of enjoying Pat Martin’s BBQ Joint anytime I want. As a matter of fact, I can walk to the Belmont location in Nashville from my house! LUCKY ME!

Pat will be firing up the pit for his ever popular whole hog and sausage! One bite and you will see why Martin’s has put Nashville on the BBQ trail!
