Cocktails with Lisa: Old Fashioned Spritzer with Devil’s River Bourbon Whiskey

#CocktailswithLisa  @winewithlisa

How do you make an Old Fashioned into a refreshing cocktail in summertime heat?

When living in Texas, it is essential to know how to cool off in that sweltering Texas heat. So how do we cool off?

You make it a Texas-inspired spritzer, of course! Devil’s River Bourbon Whiskey is sinfully smooth and delicious Texas-made Bourbon Whiskey which makes it great for Old Fashioned’s. An Old Fashioned is probably one of my favorite cocktails with one of my favorite Texas Bourbons and I am always seeking out ways to twist it up a bit and here it is!

Spritzers naturally are refreshing so why not make your cocktail a spritzer!

With a splash of freshly squeezed orange juice and your favorite seltzer water at the end, you’ve instantly made a cool and refreshing cocktail that can be slowly sipped on while in the shade from the heat of the big Texas sun. And, it pairs great with my recipe Grilled Devils River Whiskey Wings!

We may not be able to get hide from the heat but you can stay just a little bit cooler! What a lovely evening of sipping on spritzers we had while grilling and then eating the wings and hope you do too!

Here are the ingredients that I used! We love Orange Angostura Bitters!
