A Quick History About Beaujolais Nouveau

Beaujolais Nouveau wine release begins a celebration with fireworks, wine tasting, live music and dancing in the Beaujolais region of France. The Beaujolais region of France is located just below the Burgundy region where Pinot Noir and Chardonnay rule. Yet, due to a more southerly location and rich granite soils, the Gamay grape rules. Gamay is the grape and Beaujolais is the region. Beaujolais is not only home to the new or “nouveau” style, it also produces some of the finest styles and well known wines in the world.

At 12:01 am on the third Thursday of November, festivals commence with this  five-day to celebrate the first wine release of the season.

Just weeks after harvest, this fresh and fruit-driven wine called Beaujolais Nouveau is ready to drink and meant to be enjoyed now which happens to be just in time for the Thanksgiving holiday that we celebrate in the US.

We are pleased to announce that representatives most well-known producer of Beaujolais Nouveau is Georges Duboeuf, will be traveling to Round Rock to celebrate with us!
